This was a conversation with one of my favorite faculty members a couple weeks ago (who has literally been through a dozen pregnancies with his own wife and should know by now how to effectively dig himself out of holes):
“Boy, you’re really starting to show! Baby must be coming any day now.”
“I’m only 21 weeks. I’m barely over halfway.”
“Well, I just noticed a change, like you grew overnight. Your face just looks so—”
“PLEASE don’t say puffy!”
He chuckled, and then replied after a few moments hesitation, “I was going to say…nutritious.”
Yes friends, nutritious. And so are my knees and my thighs and my rear and my arms. Nutritious.
