Teadora Consalvi.
That’s my daughter’s name.
But there’s more. She also has a middle name. We finally revealed the name to my family over the weekend, but we’ve known for a long time what it would be. Almost as long as we’ve known about her. Now seems to be the appropriate time to tell you all as well.
Let me introduce you to someone first.
This is my mother:
I love her, and it’s honestly hard not to. She is unfailingly generous. Servant-hearted. Not afraid to speak her mind, but careful with her words. Quick to love, quick to befriend. She works hard when she needs to, but she is also good at setting boundaries. She is eager to spend time with her children, but is good at giving space. She wholeheartedly accepts her son-in-laws as her own and lives to make sure they know it.
My mother loves to watch British mysteries on television. Loves a well-made hamburger. Loves to garden. Loves to shop for her grandchildren, even before they’re born. Loves walking. Loves to hold my father’s hand. Loves cleanliness. Loves Diet Pepsi. Loves birds. Loves to get creative with family parties. Loves to visit the library. Loves to explore houses for sale even if she has no intention of buying. Loves to read, but only the books that challenge her intellectually and spiritually. Loves to be by herself, but easily works a crowd.
My favorite part about her? She is passionately in love with her Savior. A woman more devoted to chasing the character of Jesus does not exist. She is a prayer warrior. She covets quiet time in the word. She loves to worship. Essentially, my mother does nothing outside of her relationship with God. It is her filter and her purpose.
You love her already, don’t you?
My mother has so many qualities we want for our daughter. If Tea comes out even a pinch like my her, we will be blessed. Which is why we decided to name Tea after her.
Celeste.
Teadora Celeste Consalvi.

The name is beautiful and meaningful. Perfect, isn’t it?

It’s a very beautiful name.
Your mother sounds like an angel. Now I know where you get a lot of your loves from – right down to the library!
I feel so unworthy and blessed to have a daughter who so openly shares her love. Thank you for this awesome blessing.
Aw, I love it! And your mom!!
That truly is the sweetest thing in the world! Tea is SO lucky to have YOU as her Mama & Your MAMA as her Grandma. Her full name is so Beautiful & I’m sure her personality & spirit will be Just as Sweet as the two of Yours. You really are two of the sweetest, most loving women I know, & *I* feel blessed, Myself, to know you. <3 Love You ALL!! Can't wait to see/meet your Beautiful Little One!! <3
What a beautiful name
*sniff*
Gah, you’re always making me cry with your sweet and heartfelt posts! Your mom indeed sounds like a spectacular person to have in your life (and she’s beautiful!), and the name you’ve chosen for your daughter is wonderful — both in the way it flows from beginning to end, and in the awesome meaning behind it.
What a wonderful gift for your Mom. Your Mom is so special and I am glad that I got to call her my second Mom growing up! Also Tea and I will share a middle name. I know she will wear it proudly!
Hilary, don’t think I forgot about you having the same middle name! It’s an added bonus : ) If there is anyone I want my daughter to share middle names with, it’s you.
Proverbs 31:11-12 and so much more. Thank you for the eloquent words that describe my partner.
