About Sunday Book Club

Why are you called Sunday Book Club?

Sunday Book Club is a phrase that symbolizes my favorite things in life.

Sunday—Because when I think of Sundays, I think of church. And I am a pastor’s wife.

Book—Because when I think of books, I think of libraries. And I am a librarian.

Club—Because when I think of Sunday Book Club, I think of my actual Sunday Book Club with my mother and my sister. It is one of my favorite events of the week. It allows us to fall deep into conversation, to connect, to think creatively. And that’s what I want for this blog.

But who are you writing for?

I write for you. And for me. And for anyone who needed just a little more in life. Who wanted to look at things differently. Who wanted a bit of humor and a bit of realism at the same time. Who loves personal stories of failure and love and drama and joy.

And what can I find here?

Insights - For those coveted moments when I steal myself away to listen to the things God wants me to hear. I’ll share my experiences, my thoughts, my analogies, my attempts to understand faith and love and the character of God.

Just Me - For those day to day adventures with insecurities and excitement and everything in between. This is where I am me.

Letter of Love - For those times my insides start tingling and I get lightheaded at the thought of my handsome husband. I will chronicle our life in love.

Library for Life - For those moments when the librarian in me surfaces. Reviews, gift guides, websites, theories, conversations, and all other events that relate to my love for libraries will be posted here.

Lil Meatball – (The nickname for my daughter when she was in the womb.) For all the stories of becoming a mama, from pregnancy to delivery to dimples. Teadora’s life is recorded from her mother’s perspective.

Cookery - For those rare moments I get the itch to bake and the recipes to go with it. I am not a cook, nor do I particularly enjoy cooking. But at least I try. It helps to have a trusty Kitchenaid Stand Mixer, affectionately named Ulla.
